Universidad Carlos III de Madrid: UC3M ranks first in Spain in Finance, Mechanical Engineering and Sociology. Founded in 1989, it’s currently one of the largest institutions with almost 30.000 students enrolled. The campus is located outside Madrid’s metropolitan area and was designed as a self-sufficient university town.
Technical University of Madrid: Created as the result of connecting different Technical Schools of Engineering and Architecture, this institution has always led the rankings of technical universities in the country. Also known as Polytechnic University of Madrid, it offers strong technical programmes that are combined with many strategic partnerships and research centres.
ESCP Business School: This Grande école was founded in France and currently has campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid, Turin, and Warsaw. Operating since 1819, ESCP was the first business school in the world, so its outstanding reputation and achievements are undeniable.
Madrid has a modern economy focused on all kinds of services. But having said that, there are many other jobs outside the tourism and entertainment sectors. As an example, the city is also a leading region in industries such as aerospace and logistics.
Recent graduates without any experience might not find a job right after graduation, however the city does offer many opportunities to earn some money while looking for a new position.
Thanks to its central location and its role as the capital of Spain, Madrid is incredibly well-connected. Travel to other major cities such as Barcelona and Seville in less than three hours by train, or take an international flight to any country around the globe. Madrid–Barajas Airport is the second-largest airport in Europe and has direct flights to almost 200 destinations, so there are many chances to go anywhere.
Madrid is surrounded by land, so to go to the beach you’ll have to take a 2 hours AVE train to Valencia. Nonetheless, there are many other different activities to try and places around the area that are also worth a visit.
For those who like outdoor activities, you'll be glad to hear that in less than an hour you can reach some of Spain's World Heritage Sites, such as Toledo or Ávila, and visit its surrounding lakes, mountains and rivers.
