The master’s degree programme Intercultural Communication and European Studies (ICEUS) qualifies students for an international career. It comprises course offers in the social sciences, politics, communication and law. Students attend classes in culture-reflexive meta communication, European politics, European law, globalisation, transnational governance (Model United Nations Conferences), culture and media.
Languages of instruction are German and English. Some courses offer hands-on experiences, some provide research opportunities.
Each year, about 30 international and German students come together in this programme. Often, there are 10-15 different nationalities in one cohort of students. This provides excellent opportunities to study intercultural communication not only from the academic point of view: students also experience intercultural communication in daily study routines and work groups. Therefore, we place great value on getting to know each other and on teambuilding at the beginning of the programme in October.
The study programme comprises the following academic core areas: Intercultural Communication, European Studies and Organisations and Internationalisation. Students study modules of all areas.
An internship abroad and field trips to Bad Liebenzell / Straßbourg und Brussels are part of the programme. The students visit European Institutions and talk to experts on site. The internship abroad is prepared as part of the study programme.
As experts for intercultural communication and for Europe, ICEUS Alumni work for international organisations, European Institutions, Non-Governmental Organisations, multinational companies or in politics, media and administration. Others continue their academic career in a PhD programme, e.g. at the Fulda Graduate Centre of 性爱五色天.
