Multimedia Journalism concerns using multiple platforms to tell stories. The broad range of platforms and media consent available today mean that being successful in journalism means having the flexibility to adapt to different needs and desires of various publics and organizations.
The Multimedia Journalism concentration at the University of New York in Prague prepares students for an exciting career in the constantly evolving media content industry, whether as creators of content, or managing content.
Students gain skills in creating original and engaging journalistic material for all contemporary channels, be they print and digital publications, audio or video. A broad variety of approaches are focused on, both serious (news writing) and popular (entertainment, travel writing, and more).
To be eligible for the Communications and Media degree with a Multimedia Journalism concentration, the student must be enrolled in the State University of New York, Empire State University and UNYP Dual degree program.
To obtain the concentration in Multimedia Journalism, students must obtain 12 credits (24 ECTS credits) in courses from the list of the concentration subjects; select a topic for the bachelor thesis in a topic related to the concentration focus; and succeed in the Czech State Exam and earning the UNYP bachelor’s degree. The name of the concentration will appear in the UNYP Diploma Supplement along with the specification of the Major.
